Pursuant to 30-A M.R.S.A. municipalities shall designate a municipal reviewing authority whose responsibility shall be to hold hearings for zoning amendments under 30-A M.R.S.A. Section 4352. Zoning Ordinances. Historically CPAC (Comprehensive Planning Advisory Committee) has been designated, however, through the reorganization of CPAC to LPAC (Long-range Planning Advisory Committee) that responsibility was not listed in their charge. Both LPAC and the Planning Board have indicated that they are willing to become the municipal reviewing authority.
