Meeting Minutes

Town Council Member: Bonny Rodden
Next Meeting: Monday, March 10, 2008 @ 5:00 PM, Falmouth Public Works
I. Status of Recycling Committee
The Town Council would like to reduce the number of town committees and the time commitment from Town Councilors to support those committees. The affect this could have on the Recycling Committee was discussed.
1. The possibility of combining with the Energy Committee – this committee seems to have a specific focus on Cool Cities, the focus would have to broaden to include solid waste.
2. The committee could become a sub-committee under the Conservation Commission a smaller group could focus on solid waste and report to the Conservation Commission.
3. The committee could stay as is.
4. Options will be considered and more information gathered before any decision is made.
II. Yellow Bag Cost
A. The cost of the yellow bags is not covering the cost of disposal ant eco-maine. The bags seem to be getting denser since the introduction of curbside recycling. Randy and Nathan are reviewing these numbers.
III. Town Website
A. The Recycling Committee section of the town website is not up to date. Skip will assist in getting agendas and minutes posted.
