Additions to the Agenda: none

New Business
a. Chris Schuermann, Executive Director, Gorman Heritage Farm (GHF) pt;color:#000000;">nd or 3rd.
b. Facility Fee Structure Change – starting 01/01/13 t.
b. Evendale Bike Master Plan update In October, David, Stiney, Michele Gottschlich and URS Engineer will meet to finalize a questionnaire for the residents about the bike pathways. A public input meeting will be held in December. An updated map, from URS, includes the proposed ideas for the south end of town, and notes a few potential issues for the Reading area.
c. Dog Park Gorman Heritage Farm’s upper meadow is used by several residents to walk their dogs. They bring their own water, clean up after their dog, and make sure the gates are closed when they leave.
d. An updated department organizational chart was distributed to commissioners.

Director’s Report
a. Soccer Uniforms Our current uniforms are showing their age. Kristen Maiden, Sports Program Supervisor, submitted ideas for a new look when we order next year. We would only supply team shirts, while families would be responsible for purchasing the black shorts and black soccer socks. Discussion tabled until Gus Janszen is in attendance for a soccer parent (and coach’s) opinion.
b. Soccer field #3 At the end of October, the field will be core aerated, top dressed, and slit-seeded.
c. Adult Services Update In hopes of attracting and involving more younger adults, a suggested program name is Active Adult Programs and Senior Adult Programs, or something along those lines. Linda is looking for feedback to this idea, as well as any other program name suggestions.
d. Questionnaire David is preparing a survey to go out to resident about their usage, likes/dislikes of facilities, etc. of the Recreation Department. He gave the preliminary draft to commissioners for them to complete. The final copy will be mailed to households first quarter 2013.
e. David talked about an idea based on Panera Cares model of value-based donations (http://paneracares.org) Panera Cares Cafes do not have prices. Instead, we provide suggested dona-tion amounts to help customers understand what it will take for us to operate these cafes and be self-sufficient. In the end, it is up to the customer to decide what to contribute into our donation bins. A value-based donation concept here would allow residents to register for an event, and residents would pay what they think the value of the event is to them. These funds could then be donated to a Phi Lambda Pi fund or another type of fund.

Phi Lambda Pi Report
a. July 4th Revenue Report As it was an extremely hot, humid day, Pi still generated monies comparable to last year. The group is pleased with this as they were concerned the weather conditions, and Blue Ash’s celebrations going on at the same time, would affect people coming to the day’s events.
b. The concession stand at the pool, also, did well this year.
c. The new eighth grade class is real active.
d. Some members recently volunteered at the Department’s Mother Son Night of Fun.

Open Discussion - none
