PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
MAY 19, 2015
EVENDALE MUNICIPAL BUILDING

The regularly scheduled meeting of the Evendale Planning Commission (EPC) was called to order by Chair Chris Patterson at 5:55PM on May 19, 2015. Attending were EPC members Catherine Hartman, Jan Moore, and Chris Patterson.  Supporting the EPC were David Elmer (Assistant to the Mayor), James Dobrozsi (Architectural Review Board Member), Kathy Farro (Legal Advisor), James Jeffers (Village Engineer), Pam Morin (Building Department Clerk) and Ralph Terbrueggen (Landscape Architect).

Public Hearing:

1)      Village of Evendale, 10500 Reading Road

        Consideration of a text amendment to the Village of Evendale Zoning Code sections 1242.03(a) and 1266.09(d)(1)(A), pertaining to the definition and regulation of the storage of vehicles.

        There were no comments.  Catherine Hartman moved to close the hearing, Jan Moore seconded, and the motion passed 3-0.

New Business:

1)      Village of Evendale, 10500 Reading Road

        Consideration of a text amendment to the Village of Evendale Zoning Code sections 1242.03(a) and 1266.09(d)(1)(A), pertaining to the definition and regulation of the storage of vehicles.

        Catherine Hartman moved to recommend to Council that they accept the text amendment as proposed.  Jan Moore seconded and the motion passed 3-0.

2)      GE Aviation, Bldg. 100/1/Exterior
        Site Review of New Executive Entrance

        Presentation was made by the following GE representatives:  Joseph Scheidler of GE Aviation, Chris Boyers of BHDP Architecture, Tom Arends of BHDP Architectur, Don Wendorff of CHZM and Gary Wolnitzele of Human Nature.

        Ralph Terbrueggen inquired about the specific plants in the landscape plan.  GE stated that these are listed in permit application, and Ralph agreed to review the permit.

        Jan Moore moved to approve the site plan.  Catherine Hartman seconded and the motion passed 3-0.

        Chris Patterson asked GE to consider how the EPC could simplify the site review process in the future.  Suggestions can be shared with David Elmer.

Internal Business:

1)      Approval of Minutes

        The minutes from the March 17, 2015 meeting were reviewed. Jan Moore moved and Catherine Hartman seconded to approve the minutes.  The motion passed 3-0.

2)      Council Request

        Council is asking the EPC to reconsider zoning for the Reading Road corridor south of Glendale-Milford.  David Elmer will prepare an inventory of current uses and suggest options to modify the zoning code.  The Planning Commission will need to make a proposal and then hold a public hearing if changes are proposed.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 on a motion made by Jan Moore, seconded by Catherine Hartman and approved 3-0.   

The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, at 6:00 PM.
