New Business
1. Super Systems Inc., Evendale Commons Drive
Preliminary Discussion of New Building
Presentation was made by William Thompson, founder of SSi, and Steve Duban, Sales Manager of SSi. Steve Thompson, current President of SSi and son of William Thompson, was unable to attend due to a business trip.
Super Systems, Inc. develops and manufactures products for the heat treating industry. Products include sensors, analyzers, controllers and software solutions. The Company was founded in 1995 by William Thompson, an Evendale resident, with initial operations at a small site on Spartan Drive in Evendale.
The Company’s R&D/Manufacturing facility is currently located in Sycamore Township. They also have sales offices in several countries worldwide. Customers include GE, Ford, and Cincinnati Steel. SSi plans to double the staff size from 43 to approximately 100 employees and increase facility size from 14,000 sq. ft. to 30-50,000 sq. ft. within the next 5-10 years. SSi is seeking to purchase about 5 acres in Evendale Commons Commercial PUD next to Kinetic Vision.
Mr. Thompson applied for and is qualified to receive 6-yr. 75% Enterprise Zone tax abatement through the Hamilton County Development Corporation (HCDC). The tax abatement must be approved by Evendale Council which can consider it as early as their December meeting. The incentive is a significant factor for Super Systems.
No issues were raised by the Planning Commission at this time. Chris Patterson offered that the EPC wanted to help them through the process and to contact Dave Elmer at any time if help was needed.
