Meeting Minutes for January 19, 2006
Present at the Meeting:

· Reviewed meeting minutes from December 15, 2005
· Reviewed meeting minutes from January 5, 2006 (on-site meeting)
· Reviewed information supplied by Heidi Devine (Wildlife Biologist)
· Andy Lyon and scouts to proceed with Wyscarver Road tree project.
· Bob Griffin suggested that when planting trees, to try and plant as many different varieties of native trees as possible. Also, signage should match entrance signs.
· Bob volunteered to write a welcome letter to be put on signboard. He also thought the signboard would be a good place to recognize eagle projects.
· James Owens and scouts to mark new trail route. Trails in general should not pass through middle of preserve (to avoid disturbing wildlife).
· James suggested hanging tree identification signs on certain trees similar to Ault Park.
· Trial area of prairie grass to be planted in N/E corner of meadow. Pick a sunny spot.
· Adletta to install headwall in creek when accessible for concrete truck.
· Lots of positive comments regarding the existing trails. Great place for a walk this winter without getting muddy. Bob mentioned he saw an adult and child fishing on New Years Day!
Action Items:
· Maintenance to install plastic cover on signboard & post guidelines.
· Maintenance to make and install 12”x20” Horncastle signboard & post guidelines.
· Adletta to install headwall.
· Andy Lyon to identify trees to be removed along Wyscarver (tree of heavens)
· Joe Asbrock and scouts to install a duck box in the pond area.
· James Owens to mark new trail route and plant some grass seed on Horncastle trail.
