1. Police
• Hiring process
i. Chief Korte advised committee they are proceeding with the search to replace Officer Parr and that are looking to hold interviews in October
• Capital Line Item
i. Chief Korte requested permission to use the remaining $5000 of capital to purchase new shot guns and upgrade the computer & software for accident recreation
• Overtime
i. Chief Korte made official request to appropriate an additional $31,000 for overtime. Case reports are up 20% year to date.
2. Fire
• House fire update
• Chief Hauck advised the committee there is new HIPPA regulations and that the department is updating their policy to meet the new regulations.
• Ambulance replacement
• Chief Hauck advised the committee that the two ambulances both have issues. The M240 model year 2001 has an electrical problem that is sporadic and they just replaced the transmission. The M40 model year 2006 has a engine recall issue that has been investigated but no solution has been determined by the manufacturer. Until it becomes inoperable the department was told to continue to use as normal. Chief Hauck does not believe the unit is dependable for the long term as the main unit.
3. Recreation
• Dave Nichols advised the committee that the bike trail master plan is complete and they have received a electronic copy of the plan. Dave will print off a copy and distribute to the committee.
4. Other
• Chief Hauck advised the committee of the fire at 3520 Glendale-Milford Road
