COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT CORPORATION
Minutes from the March 17, 2015 Meeting
Evendale Municipal Building, 10500 Reading Rd. Evendale, Ohio

Attendees: Hugh McKinnon (Chairman), Jeff Albrinck, Dick Finan, Dave Harwood, Tom Kuechly, Al Pearlman, Chris Schaefer, Chris Patterson (Planning Commission Liaison), Sean Balnes (St. Francis Group), Eric Greenberg (St. Francis Group), David Linger (UCRI), Dennis Ulrich (UCRI), Jim Kleemeier (Cincinnati State Workforce Development), Karsten Sommer (REDI Cincinnati), David Elmer (staff), and Pam Morin (staff).   

The meeting was called to order by Mr. McKinnon at 7:30 am.

Approval of the January 20, 2015 meeting minutes was made on the motion of Mr. Finan, seconded by Mr. Albrinck.  There was no discussion.  The motion passed with a vote of 7 – 0.

Mr. Finan made and Mr. Harwood seconded the motion to enter executive session to consider confidential information regarding economic development. A vote was taken and the motion passed with a vote of 7 - 0. The CIC entered executive session at 7:40 am.

A motion was made by Mr. Finan, seconded by Mr. Harwood, to exit executive session. A vote was taken and the motion passed with a vote of 7 - 0.  The CIC exited executive session at 8:20 am.  No action was taken in Executive Session.

Mr. Elmer presented his Economic Development update:
•     The HCDC’s annual review of existing TIF’s will take place in June.  It was suggested that Mr. Elmer should attend this meeting.
•     Mr. Elmer continues to follow up with HCDC about the possibility of relocating in Evendale.  No decision has been made yet.
•     Mr. Finan mentioned that the City of Cincinnati is still looking for a new location for the city morgue.  The Mayor has sent a letter to the City of Cincinnati inviting them to consider Evendale.
•     Mr. Elmer announced that the Village will be receiving the 2015 Frank F. Ferris II Planning Award for our Bike and Pedestrian Plan later this month at the Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission luncheon.  Mr. Finan recommended that Evendale partner with Sharonville to sponsor a canoe trip on the Mill Creek for state legislators to generate interest and possible money for development of a bike trail along the Mill Creek.
•     Mr. Elmer met with the realtor for the property at 9972 Reading Road and talked about possible businesses for this location.

It was suggested that the CIC subcommittee send out a brief summary of their meetings to the remaining CIC members.
Next month’s meeting is scheduled for April 21st at 7:30 am.

Mr. Harwood made and Mr. Albrinck seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting.  The motion passed with a vote of 7 – 0.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 am.
