Minutes from the December 16, 2014 Meeting
Evendale Municipal Building, 10500 Reading Rd. Evendale, Ohio
Attendees: Hugh McKinnon (Chairman), members Dick Finan, Dave Harwood, Tom Kuechly, Al Pearlman, Chris Schaefer, Chris Patterson (Planning Commission Liaison), Sean Balnes (St. Francis Group), David Elmer (staff), and Pam Morin (staff)
The meeting was called to order by Chairman McKinnon at 7:30 am.
Approval of the November 18, 2014 meeting minutes was made on the motion of Mr. Finan, seconded by Mr. Schaeffer. The motion passed with a vote of 6-0.
Mr. Elmer presented the bill from Kinetic Vision for the production of the video. The bill included the production of the video, with an agreed upon payment for two future edits. An additional bill to the Verano Group for the new narration on the video was presented. Mr. Schaeffer made and Mr. Pearlman seconded the motion to pay the Verano Group.
Mr. Kuechly made a motion to request additional money from Council to cover a portion of the video. Mr. Finan seconded the motion. The motion passed with a vote of 6 – 0 vote.
Mr. Schaeffer left the meeting at this time.
A motion was made by Mr. Finan seconded by Mr. Harwood, to enter executive session to consider confidential information regarding business strategy of a potential Evendale business. The motion passed with a vote of 5-0. The CIC entered executive session at 7:45 am.
A motion was made by Mr. Harwood, seconded by Mr. Finan, to exit executive session. The motion passed with a vote of 5 - 0. The CIC exited executive session at 9:20 am. No action was taken in Executive Session.
Mr. Elmer summarized economic development report:
• Super System Inc. has withdrawn their proposal to purchase a parcel on Evendale Commons Drive;
• Enable Injections, a pharmaceutical R & D and manufacturing company, is looking for a new facility. They have shown some interest in the building located at 2863 East Sharon Road. This building is located in the FEMA 100 year flood plain. According to the original building plans, the building was built two-feet about the base flood elevation. Village Engineer, James Jeffers, and Mr. Elmer are working with Enable Injections to acquire relief from the flood hazard classification.
The next regularly scheduled CIC meeting was set for January 20, 2015 at 7:30 am.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Mr. Harwood and seconded by Mr. Finan. The motion passed with a vote of 5 - 0. The meeting was adjourned at 9:40 am.
