Minutes for the July 17, 2012 Meeting
Evendale Municipal Building, 10500 Reading Road, Evendale, Ohio
Attendees: President Hugh McKinnon, Jeff Albrinck, Al Pearlman, Chris Schaefer, Bob Szczur, Stiney Vonderhaar, Chris Patterson, Jack Cameron, and Pam Morin. Gordon and Carrie Geraci, owners of Elite Photography, were also present.
Recurring Business:
1. There was one correction to the minutes. Stiney made and Jeff seconded a motion to approve the minutes as corrected. There was no discussion. The motion passed with a 6 yes, 0 no vote.
New Business:
1. Gold Medal is actively looking for an existing manufacturing building to facilitate their expansion plans. In recent discussions, Village Council has expressed their support of an incentive to encourage Gold Medal to buy the existing building for sale across from their headquarter location on Medallion Drive. CIC discussed the possibility of supporting a $125,000 incentive for Gold Medal to buy the building at 10601 Medallion Drive in exchange for; a five year commitment on their headquarters remaining in Evendale and employee withholding tax remaining at or above the 2011 total. Jack and Tim will work with Gold Medal to determine the best agreement form to be brought back to CIC for review and approval. All CIC members were in favor of this incentive and expressed their desire
to also anticipate Gold Medal’s future needs to continue to keep them in Evendale.
Old Business:
1. Menards received Planning Commission’s approval at their June 19th meeting. The building permit process has begun and their plan is to be open by the Spring, 2013.
2. On Saturday, July 14th at 10:30 – 11:00, Antique Boat Center will be having a parade of boats as they move into their new location at 10346 Evendale Drive. This will be followed by a ribbon cutting and an Open House at noon.
3. The Village staff will be receiving web-site training next week. The launch of the new web-site will be in August.
4. Planning Commission will be reviewing the revised Zoning Code at their August 21st meeting. The code then must be approved by Council before it can be adopted.
5. Discussions continue with Village Crossings (Al. Neyer and Equity) and the Evendale Medical Center. The Evendale Medical Center has been hard to pin down on their vision of their future plans. Jack sought input from CIC as to their desire to get involved in development activities if the Evendale Medical Center is not committed. CIC values the growth opportunity with the Evendale Medical Center and any involvement from the Village needs to be focused on them.
6. The Evendale Chamber Golf Outing is next Wednesday, July 25th.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 7:30.
Stiney made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Bob seconded that motion. The motion passed with a 6 yes, 0 no vote. The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 A.M.
