Evendale Municipal Building, 10500 Reading Road, Evendale, Ohio

Economic Development:

1.      Gold Medal Product’s search for more property is on hold at the moment.

2.      The 16 acre lot at 10600 Evendale Drive has been sold.  Three different businesses, all relating to paper packaging, will occupy the building.

3.      KDM Screen Printing has leased the Cincinnati Color building, 10601 Medallion Drive.

4.      Mike Albert Fleet Solutions, 10340 Evendale Drive, held an Open House for their recently renovated building.

5.      Antique Boat Center is moving into 10346 Evendale Drive.  They are a global company with 14 employees that restores and sells wooden boats.  They hope to have a parade of boats through Evendale when they move in on July 21st.

New Business:

1.      Jack brought in the Enquirer article listing the top places to work in the Cincinnati area.  Four Evendale companies won that honor:  Gold Medal Products, (Medallion Drive), Evendale Medical Center (Glendale-Milford Road), Scherzinger Pest Control (Medallion Drive), and Mike Albert Leasing (Evendale Drive).  Al suggested that this information should be posted on the web site.

Old Business:

1.      Menards, Evendale Commons, will be returning to Planning Commission tonight.  Their new submittal shows the berm and landscaping enhanced on all sides.  Chris Patterson stated that Planning Commission has made it clear that they would like to see the wall painted so we have a minimal standard.  If Menards receive approval from Planning Commission tonight, they hope to have the store open by the Spring, 2013.

2.      The Zoning Code Revision Working Group has completed their review.  Planning Commission has three chapters to review.  Council will be the last group to review the revised code.

3.      Jack stated that the web site test model is available to view.  He will be forwarding the link to all members.

4.      There was a discussion if the old Fifth-Third Bank building should be demolished at the Village Landing Development, Glendale-Milford Road and St. Rita Lane.  We have two options:  to remove everything, including foundations or simple remove the building and scrape the land.  When the hotel, located in the same development, was demolished the building was removed, but the foundation is still there.

5.      The Mayor and Jack met with Dave Neyer, Neyer Retail, and Steve Watson, Equity, concerning future plans for Village Crossings, 10400 Reading Road.  They have many ideas for the property, but no real direction yet.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 7:30 AM.

Dave made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Jeff seconded this motion.  The motion passed with a vote of 6 yes, 0 no.
