COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT CORPORATION MEETING
Tuesday, February 3 at 7:30 A.M.
Evendale Municipal Building, 10500 Reading Road, Evendale, Ohio
Attendees: Natalie Greulich, Al Pearlman, Hugh McKinnon, Dave Harwood, Doug Lohmeier, Stiney Vonderhaar, Jack Cameron
Recurring Business:
1. Approval of Minutes from January 6, 2009 Meetings
a. (1st Lohmeier, 2nd Pearlman – 6 yae, 0 nae)
2. Economic Development update
a. Social Security office preliminary presentation at Planning Commission.
i. CIC wanted a letter sent to Planning Commission expressing their concern that this development on this particular lot is not in keeping with the concept plan and Phase I development schedule approved in the Evendale Commons PBD.
b. Council Member Vonderhaar and Smiley-Robertson along with Jack Cameron visited the Evendale Medical Center for a visit from Congressman Steve Driehaus. Visit was prompted by Evendale Medical Center folks to express concern with current federal language in a bill preventing physician owned hospitals.
New Business:
1. Economic Development consultant discussion
Brad Schwab, Woolpert to discuss economic development services
2. Catherine Fitzgerald, Harry Blanton, David Main, Hamilton County Development Company
a. Both Woolpert and HCDC presented their thoughts on ED, approaches possible for Evendale and their abilities as a company
b. CIC members asked questions of each presenter.
c. Discussion followed the presentations. Desire was to further the discussion at the March meeting.
d. Jack will provide a more detailed outline of ED and recommendation from his perspective for Evendale.
Old Business:
1. Norfolk Southern request to access Medallion Drive
a. Discussed Gold Medal concerns after meeting with Dan Kroeger and Dave Evans
b. Matter tabled until March meeting
2. Review of Role/Mission Statement of CIC
a. Tabled until March.
3. Landbanking (Marketing Existing Sites & Future Landbank Sites)
a. Tabled until March.
