School Committee Members Present: Paula Bouchard, Shannon Emery, Melissa Mitchell, Andrew Seeley, and Dorothy Perkins.
School Committee Members Absent: None
Staff Present: Superintendent Arthur Wittine, Principal Terry Lux, Julia Suddy, Gertrude Pulk, and Theresa Mealey.

A. Call the meeting to order
Chair member Paula Bouchard called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
B. Presentation on School Nutrition – Julia Suddy
C. Adjustments to the Agenda.
There were no adjustments to the agenda.
D. Consideration of School Committee Minutes:
To Approve the Minutes of the January 9, 2006, School Committee Meeting, as
Written or with Corrections, as Recommended by the Superintendent of
Schools.
It was moved by Andrew Seeley, seconded by Dorothy Perkins, and voted 5 – 0 to
approve the minutes of the January 9, 2006, School Committee Meeting, as written
E. Reports
1. Principal of Eastport Elementary School: This report is attached.
2. Principal of Shead High School: This report is attached.
3. School Committee Report: Melissa Mitchell stated that Washington County
Community College is interested in working with Shead High School on the Early
College Program.
4. Superintendent’s Report: This report is attached.
F. Public Participation.
G. Old Business
1. To Consider Adoption of Policy GBEBB, Staff Conduct with Students, with
Revisions as Determined at the January 9, 2006 Work Session.
It was moved by Andrew Seeley, seconded by Melissa Mitchell, and voted 5 – 0 to
adopt Policy GBEBB, Staff Conduct with Students, with the revisions determined at
the January 9, 2006, work session.
H. New Business.
1. To Enter an Executive Session to Consider a Personnel Matter Pursuant to
Statutory Citation [1MRSA ss 405 (6) (A)].
It was moved by Dorothy Perkins, seconded by Melissa Mitchell, and voted 5 – 0 to
enter executive session at 7:55 p.m.
Time Out – 8:00 p.m.
2. To Consider Paying a Long-term Substitute Teacher a Rate of $55.00 per
Day for the First Ten Days and Increasing the pay to a per diem rate of step 1
for teacher with a Bachelor’s degree.
