School Committee Members Present: Paula, Bouchard, Shannon Emery, Judith Ampungan and Andrew Seeley.
School Committee Members Absent: Dorothy Perkins
Others Present: Superintendent Arthur Wittine, Principal Maureen Pottle, Principle Terry Lux, Lisa Marie Pratt and Edward French
1. Call the Meeting to Order.
Vice Chairmember Paula Bouchard called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
2. Election of Officers for 2004-2005:
a. To Elect a Chair for 2004-2005.
It was moved by Andrew Seeley, seconded by Judith Ampungan and voted
3 – 0 – 1 (Paula Bouchard abstaining) to elect Paula Bouchard as Chair for
2004-2005.
b. To elect a Vice Chair for 2004-2005.
It was moved by Judith Ampungan, seconded by Paula Bouchard and voted
4 –0 to elect Andrew Seeley as Vice Chair for 2004-2005.
3. Consideration of School Committee Minutes:
To Approve the Minutes of the November 2, 2004 School Committee Meeting, last Written or with Corrections, as Recommended by the Superintendent of Schools.
It was moved by Andrew Seeley, seconded by Judith Ampungan and voted
4 – 0 to approve the minutes of the November 2, 2004 School Committee meeting
as written.
4. Administrative Reports:
a. The report from the Principal of Eastport Elementary School is attached.
b. The report from the Principal of Shead High School is attached.
c. There was no School Committee Report.
The report from the superintendent is attached.
5. Adjustments to the Agenda:
There were no adjustments to the minutes.
6. Consideration of School Committee Policies:
a. To Approve the Revisions of the Following Polices, as Written or with Corrections, as Recommended by the Superintendent of Schools:
IJNDB Student Computer and Internet Use
IJNDB-E Student Computer/Internet Use Acknowledgement Form
IJNDB-R Student Computer and Internet Use Rules.
It was moved by Andrew Seeley, seconded by Judith Ampungan and voted 4 – 0 to approve the revisions to the aforementioned policies.
b. To Approve the First Reading of the Following Policies, as Written or With corrections, as Recommended by the Superintendent of Schools
GCSA Employer and Internet Use
GCSA-R Employee Computer and Internet Use Rules
It was moved by Judith Ampungan, seconded by Shannon Emery and voted 4 – 0 to approve the aforementioned policies with one correction to GCSA-R
To Adopt the Following Policies, as Written or with Corrections, as Recommended by the Superintendent of Schools.
IJJ Library-Media Material Selection
IJJA Instructional Materials Selection
ILD Educational Research: Student Submission to Surveys, Analyses and Evaluations.
IMBB Exemption from Required Instruction
JLDB Student Assistance Team
It was moved by Judith Ampungan, seconded by Andrew Seeley and voted 4 – 0 to adopt the aforementioned policies with one correction to JLDB.
7. To Establish a Shead High School Tuition Rate of $6679.61 for 2004-2005.
It was moved by Judith Ampungan, seconded by Andrew Seeley and voted 4 – 0 to establish the Shead High School tuition rate at $6679.71 for 2004-2005.
8. To Adjourn the Meeting
The meeting was adjourned by Paula Bouchard at 7:40 p.m.
