Harbor Committee Meeting
February 10, 2003
Attendance: Greg Biss, John Bishop, Lee Harris, Bud Finch, and Melinda Krestel.
John Bishop called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Motion to approve minutes from the January 13, 2003 meeting made by Greg Biss,
seconded by Lee Harris, Unam.
Discussions were held on the following items:
A. Bud reported that the bids can go out for the $50,000 Grant for the fish
Pier, which will include 7 floats and a ramp, as well as lighting and pilings
as needed. This money will be used for transient boat use only and cannot
be used for any other purpose. Bids will go out in two local papers.
The Quoddy Tides and the Ellsworth American.
B. Another workshop for going over the harbor ordinance will be scheduled
within the next few weeks. The new Harbor Master will be there to go
over it with them.
C. Motion to recommend Eric Voisine as the new Harbor Master to the city
Council and Peter Small as the Assistant Harbor Master was made by
Greg Biss, seconded by John Bishop. Unam.
D. Suggestion was made to ask Charles Leppin to consider a position on the
committee as the affiliation with the Port Authority. This will be brought
up at the next meeting of the Port Authority.
4. Meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m. by Greg Biss. Seconded by Lee Harris.
