On Monday, Janaury 25th, there will be two events held at the Welcome Center at the Eastport Port Authority:
3:00 - 4:00 pm Join Nancy Smith of GrowSmart Maine, Judy East of Washington County Council of Governments, Elaine Abbott, and Butch Harris as they discuss climate change and how it affects all of us.
Discussions will include information learned from Nancy and Elaine who attended a climate change tour in Denmark; the local and State initiatives for climate adaptation and renewable energy; signs of climate change in the ocean; and what Eastport is doing to increase resiliency and adaptation.
Light refreshements will be served.
5:00 pm Please join in a community discussion for Eastport's "Making Headway Project." Hosted by the Maine Development Foundation and GrowSmart Maine, there will be a showing of a short film on grassroots community projects followed by discussions on a project that Eastport, as a community, would like to plan and execute.
A start-up donation of $1,000 is already in place! Come out and lend your thoughts and voice to a project planned and chosen by our community.
A light meal will be served. Popcorn (of course!) will be served during the movie.
