Community Appreciation Dinner

Eastport has been through some recent challenging times: the July 5 hurricane, the collapse of the breakwater, fishing boats driven on to the sea wall, and record setting snow.
Through it all, people have come together to offer assistance whether it was volunteers helping First Responders after the damaging winds of the hurricane, the fishing community assisting with removing boats from the sea wall, volunteers who went door to door in the bitter January cold to perform an economic survey, or groups of volunteers who shoveled out the elderly and home bound through a freight train of blizzards. Not to mention public and private businesses and organizations who assisted us in so many ways.
We live in a truly special community and it takes all of us to make it happen. In the spirit of community and volunteerism, there will be a Community Appreciation dinner at Shead High School on Thursday, April 9 from 5:00 – 7:00. Everyone is welcome and it’s free of charge thanks to volunteers and donations from members of our community.
If you are able to attend, please consider bringing a dessert to share. No reservations or tickets are needed, but mark your calendar and we’ll see you for supper on April 9!
