Chairman Howard Sandler opened the work session at 9:30 AM.
SUBJECT: Eastham Sign Code

Real Estate Signs
Discussion as to where real estate signs should be posted and how they should look.

DECISION: One generic sign will be allowed at each major intersection directing traffic into any one neighborhood where a house or a lot is for sale.  The sign should be 8" x 30" containing only an arrow and the statement “home for sale” or “lot for sale”.  No advertising by any particular company will be permitted.  

Commercial Outdoor Displays
Discussion addressed both moveable and permanent outdoor commercial displays in Town.

DECISION: There will be a 15' setback requirement from any curb for both moveable and permanent displays.  Any display will require a permit for review and the approval of the Building Inspector.  The application for this review shall be called the “Commercial Site Plan Display Application”.  

A follow-up meeting shall be called to discuss minor issues as to the real estate signs and to address the definition of seasonal and year-round displays and the requirements for each.

Meeting adjourned at approximately 10:30 AM.
