EASTHAM HUMAN SERVICES ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 30, 2010
Present: Mary Sedlock, Gordon Major, Carl Lipton, Elaine Lipton,
Margaret Phillips, Sue Canavari, Judi Izikewicz.
Meeting called to order by Chairperson Mary Sedlock at 7:06pm.
Minutes of November 9, 2010 were accepted as sent.
Thank you to Elaine Lipton for preparing a spread sheet for this years’ budget.
Judi Izikewicz went on record stating “the amount of money allocated for disbursement by this committee is so low, compared to the needs requested of this committee.” Discussion followed"
Nauset Together We Can “Juice Bar” has been closed down by the Board of Health. It was suggested by Sue Canavari, that if we have it, perhaps we could give the $5000.00 to the town’s Recreation Department, as they are offering so many wonderful activities for the young people of the town.
Time was spent discussing and deciding upon the amounts requested of the agencies that we interviewed.
Gordon Major feels that we should make it know to the Town that we have allocated significantly less than was requested of us. It may be time to ask for a higher budget to work with.
Gordon Major made a motion to accept our recommendations (see attached) and present them to the Town. Second, Carl Lipton. Vote, unanimously passed.
Mary Sedlock will take this to Ms.Vanderhoff, and asks that perhaps other members could go with her.
Our next meeting will be in the spring the date to be announced.
