EASTHAM HUMAN SERVICES ADVSORY COMMITTEE

April 29, 2008
Present: Gail Hoffman, Chairwoman, Richard Dill, Elaine Lipson, (Gordon Major,) Nina Opel, Mary Sedlock, Dilys Smith
The meeting was called to order at 7:00PM in the Town Hall Small Meeting Room.
Volunteer officers for next year were approved: Gail Hoffman, Chairwoman, Dilys Smith, Clerk.
Gordon’s presence was welcomed – he must go to Town Hall to be reinstated officially; he will rejoin us in the fall.
We shared press reports on some of the agencies we had helped to fund this year – Gosnold, the Orleans “hope Chest, “ etc.
Elaine reported on her visit with the Nauset High School Nurse.
Gail reported that the Juice Bar Board is actively trying to open this facility; they will be on the Town Meeting Warrant.
We discussed how will address the impact Massachusetts health insurance changes will have on our discussions for 2008-2008. Elaine will draft a letter to be sent to “our” agencies, copies to be sent to the Town Administrator for approval by the Committee Chairwoman.
Agencies selected for interview by the whole committee in the Fall: ECEC, Children’s Place, Independence House, the Interfaith Council, LCOC, Gosnold, Consumer Assistance and the Juice Bar.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:10PM.
