EASTHAM BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING
THURSDAY, MAY 27, 2010

PRESENT: Dr. James Taylor, Chairman, Dr. Lois Roth-Johnson, Beverly Knox, R.N.,B.S.
Pat Lariviere, R.N., Susan Barker, Eastham Assistant Health Agent

OPENING STATEMENTS
Dr. Taylor stated that the Board was pleased with the success of the vaccine clinics held at the Orleans Senior Center on May 20, 2010.
VARIANCE
Clara Benson 230 Corliss Way Map-18 Parcel-4
Judy Bersin (Ryder/Wilcox) submitted a plan to upgrade the septic system. The following variance was requested: Town of Eastham Board of Health
Regulation - I Septic Systems
Title 5 - C 6. Septage Disposal Regulation
The proposed SAS shall be located 77 feet from a vegetated wetland requiring a
23 variance.
The Board of Health denied approval for the submitted plan. The Board recommended a new plan be submitted with alternative technology and pressure dosing.
Dr Taylor made the motion not to approve the submitted plan .
Dr. Lois -Roth- Johnson seconded the motion.

TWO YEAR EXTENSION REQUESTS
Karen Hout 85 Asa’s Road Map-4 Parcel-88
David Lajoie (Felco Engineering ) representing the owner submitted the request for an extension of provisional use approval for Waterloo Biofilter Model
Up-550 granted originally 5/13/ 2005. The extension is approved for one year. This extension will expire on May27, 2011. An extension had been previously
approved by the Board of Health May 29, 2008.
Dr Lois-Roth Johnson made the motion to approve the extension for one year.
Pat Lariviere seconded the motion
SO VOTED UNANIMOUSLY
Dr. Taylor requested that the Board of Health July meeting be reschedule to July 22, 2010. The members of the Board approved this request and also voted to hold a BOH workshop on Wednesday June 16, 2010 at 9:00 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
