MINUTES
BOARD OF HEALTH
THURSDAY April 29, 2010
at 3:00 P.M.


PRESENT:        Dr. James Taylor, Chairman,  Pat Lariviere, RN,Vice -Chairman
Beverly Knox, R.N.,B.S.,  Dr. Lois Roth - Johnson ,
                        Jane Crowley, M.S. R.S, Health Agent,
                         Sue Barker, Assistant Health Agent

Dr. Taylor opened the meeting at 3: 05 p.m.

OPENING STATEMENTS:

Jane Crowley gave the monthly update :

The rabies vaccine distribution program will take place May 5, 2010

Environmental Partners and Sterns &Wheler are working on a  pamphlet to explain the purpose and need for the water environmental project.
The pamphlet will be available to the public when completed.

Board of Health Departments on the Lower Cape will hold a vaccine clinic at the Orleans Council on Aging. The clinic will require
pre-registration and appointment only. At the meeting of the Health Departments April 30, 2010  more details about time etc. will be completed
and will be advertised on the Web Base and newspaper.  

Dr. Taylor inquired about educating the public concern the safe disposal of unwanted drugs. Jane stated that with the help of the police
department a guide for a safe disposal procedure is being studied.

REVIEW

Mr & Mrs. Sweeney (builders) submitted plans for an addition to the house  at  34 Tomahawk Trail. The Board recommend that a alternative system should be required on this property since this is a environmentally sensitive lot. The Board will review new plans submitted at their Workshop Meeting on May 19, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. or at a future BOH meeting.

Mr. Dumont presented plans for 7& 5 Dory Lane. (Brackett Landing)

Beverly Knox made the motion to approve the submitted plans.
Lois Roth-Johnson seconded the motion.

REDUCTION REQUEST

Raftery 40 Huckleberry Lane      Map-7    Parcel-339

Mr. Raferty requested approval to reduce the septic testing requirement on his property to once a year, to be done in the month of August.

Pat Lariviere made the motion to approve this request.
Beverly seconded the motion.
SO VOTED UNANIMOUSLY

SIGN BEACH PERMITS FOR -  2010
         Beach permits were signed.
