FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING
March 11, 2009
Attendees:
Members: J. Bayne, S. Beyle, J. Cannon, J. Dorman, B. Eastman, J. Knox, W. Krum, N. Newell, R. Smith
Administration: S. Vanderhoef
Public: R. French
The meeting was called to order at 5:00 PM by the Chair.
Agenda:
We discussed our frustration with the Regional School budget. The Finance Committee has little input, only the
Regional School Committee can control it, and currently shows little interest in doing so. The budget has been
certified at this point, so we can only recommend passage or not. We still would like to understand the details of
the labor contracts and detailed actual expenditures in a form that can be compared to the budget lines. We
should plan to attend the first meeting of the new school committee after elections and let them know what
information we would like to have from the administration.
The Finance Committee discussed and voted recommendations on a number of articles and budget lines as
detailed in the chart following below.
The next meeting will be March 18 at 5:00 PM, and we should plan to vote at that time on all completed
articles.
B. Eastman made a motion to adjourn at 6:58 PM, seconded by J. Bayne and voted unanimously.
Respectfully submitted,
Brian G. Eastman
