Monthly Meeting Minutes for the July 5, 2006 Meeting:
The meeting was called to order at 8:15 A.M. by Chair Ron Rencurrel
Present were Bob Donahoe, Mike Kain, Don Ouellette, Dave Maynard and Bernadette Burgess.
Absent were Tina Jas and Dave Badger. Representing the Town was Selectmen Dave Schropfer.
Minutes of the May meeting were approved.
Old Business
Bob Donahoe reported on the preparations for the Tour de Trail scheduled for July 9th. The Orleans 4th of July parade marketing effort went well. Several members of our Committee rode in the parade, which was a key effort by the Nauset Rotary Club to market this new fund raising event.
We made plans to check for excess sand due to all the rain and overhanging branches on the Eastham portion of the rail trail. This will complete prior to the event.
Afterwards, Dave Schropfer joined our meeting. We had a round table discussion of our activities and concerns dating back several years. This was a quick ad hoc review for Dave. Dave will present his interests in more detail later on
New Business
Ron Rencurrel heard from a biking friend that the MASS Challenge biking event is planning to use the Bike Trail through Eastham on August 6th. With 5,000 plus riders --- we feel this is dangerous. Ron is investigating.
The next meeting will be July Wednesday, August 2nd at 8:15 A.M. The meeting was adjourned at 9:35 A.M.
