Executive Session for the purpose of discussing a voluntary layoff request of an East Hampton Police Officer:
A motion was made by Mr. Tuttle, seconded by Mr. Goff, to enter Executive Session at 6:00 p.m.

Ms. Weintraub asked if a union representative should be in attendance at the meeting and is the union aware of the meeting.

Jeff Mill of the Middletown Press stated that according to his discussion with the Freedom of Information Commission, the agenda was not properly drawn noting it to be a personnel matter.

Ms. Engel noted that the meeting is a discussion of extension of benefits not the voluntary layoff.  The Council discussed the issues and determined that the meeting will be postponed to August 10th or another possible date to be determined.  The officer will be given the option to be in attendance.

Possible action regarding extension of health care benefits for six months for Police Officer requesting voluntary layoff:
No action taken.

Adjournment:

Respectfully submitted,
