MINUTES OF SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
OF THE TOWN OF EAST HAMPTON
HELD OCTOBER 11, 2011

        A special town meeting of the electors and citizens qualified to vote in town meetings of the Town of East Hampton, Connecticut, was held at the East Hampton Town Hall in Eaton Smith Meeting Room, 20 East High Street in East Hampton, Connecticut on the 11TH of October, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.  Also present at the meeting was Margaret Jacobson Deputy Republican Registrar of Voters, Bunny Simko, Democratic Registrar of Voters, and Kevin Reich, President of the Cemetery Board.

 Moderator Mr. Robert McKinney opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. and directed Town Clerk, Sandra Wieleba, to read the notice for the meeting which was published in The Rivereast on September 30, 2011, and which is recorded in these records immediately preceding these minutes.

Motion made by Mr. Peter Brown and seconded by Mr. Christopher Goff                               to accept the Legal Call.  Vote in the affirmative.

Moderator McKinney requested the resolution prepared for this item be presented.  Mr. Christopher Goff presented and moved “To accept the Resolution, a copy of which was made available to those in attendance and made a part of the minutes”, seconded by Mr. Kevin Reich.  Moderator McKinney called for a vote on the Resolution.  Vote in the affirmative.

Moderator McKinney called for discussion of the resolution from the public.  No comments were presented.  

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Ms. Melissa Engel “To adjourn the Special meeting” at 7:05 p.m. seconded by Mr. Kevin Reich.  Motion passed.

TOWN OF EAST HAMPTON
NOTICE OF SPECIAL TOWN MEETING – OCTOBER 11, 2011

        A special town meeting of the electors and citizens qualified to vote in town meetings of the Town of East Hampton, Connecticut, will be held at the East Hampton Town Hall in East Hampton, Connecticut on the 11th day of October at 7:00 p.m. for the following purposes:

  • To consider and act upon a resolution,
(a)     To appropriate $8,750 (purchase price) plus $2,250 (closing costs) for costs with respect to the acquisition of a parcel of land consisting of approximately 1.25 acres located on Young Street and shown as Assessor’s Map 14 Block 31 Lot 10E and situated in the Town of East Hampton, Connecticut, now or formerly owned by Lee W. Taylor and that the Town appropriate $11,000 from the Capital Reserve Fund contingency account to finance the appropriation.  The appropriation may be spent for title insurance, broker’s fees, adjustments, closing expenses, legal fees and administrative costs related to the acquisition
