Minutes


Present:  Jeremy Hall, Shawn Mullen, Deb Mckinney, Tim Adams, Chris Hanson, Sheryl Dougherty, Courtney Hyte.  
 
Call to Order:  Deb Mckinney called the meeting to order.   

Approval of the minutes of the March 5th, Regular Meeting
Tim Adams motioned to approve the minutes.  Sheryl Dougherty seconded.  All approved.  

Audience of Citizens

Communications
  • Town Manager Resignation
Mike Maniscalco has resigned and will be leaving as of July 1.  
  • Fence at Sears Park
A new fence between the park and Sears Place has been installed.  
Committee Reports
  • Air Line Trail Sub Committee Report
Tim Adams gave a summary of the sub Committee Meeting.  We are working on events for National Trails Day.  
  • Seamster Park Playground
  • RFP
Jeremy Hall discussed this.  Play By Design was the winning bid.  
  • Golf Tournament
There have been a lot of sponsors step up this year for the golf tournament.  We need more players to register.  
  • Volunteer Coordinator Update
Sheryl Dougherty reported on the status of volunteers.  
  • Looking ahead
August will be here quick we are working on coordinating all efforts toward the build week.  


Unfinished Business
  • Sears Park Master Plan Revision (possible motion)
Jeremy Hall distributed a copy of a new version of the master plan re-locating the boat launch and re-doing the lower parking lot.  Hopefully we can have this completed this summer.  
  • Air Line Trail Update
Jeremy Hall discussed this project.  
  • Kick Board at Sears Park
The estimated for this are higher than were expected.  We will keep looking into something for the open recreation area at the park.  
  • Program update
  • Survey Monkey Results for Basketball
Shawn Mullen gave a report on the evaluations for Youth Basketball and potential changes moving forward.  Shawn also reported on upcoming summer programing.

Jeremy updated the board on the status of Capital projects and the budget.

  • Park Maintainer Position
It looks like this has been eliminated from the Parks and Recreation budget.
