Minutes

Present:  Jeremy Hall, Shawn Mullen, Bridget McLellan
Deb Mckinney, Jessica Rurka, Courtney Hyte, Sheryl Dougherty, Tim Adams, Dan Roy

Call to Order:  Deb Mckinney called the meeting to order.  

Approval of the minutes of the January 2nd, Regular Meeting:  
Dan Roy motioned to approve the minutes of the January 2nd meeting.  Tim Adams seconded.  All approved.   

Audience of Citizens:  None

Communications
  • Welcome new member Cortney Hyte
Courtney Hyte was welcomed and introduced herself to the board.  

Unfinished Business
  • Seamster Park Playground Fundraising opportunities/updates
  • Fundraising update      
  • Auction March 10th
The auction items list has been updated and copy was distributed to all members.  We have approx. 40 items and 15 silent auction items.  Jeremy Hall will create a Facebook event page for this.  
  • Golf Tournament May 24th Blackledge
Details have been finalized for the golf tournament.  Shawn Mullen will post event details and registration to the website.  Everyone was given a copy of the sponsorship details.  
  • Zumba for Kids Feb 15th
Becky Cummings is hosting another Zumba fundraiser on the 15th at Memorial School .  
  • Seamster Park Playground safety concerns (possible motion)
The advisory board will look at the playscape and make a recommendation at the next meeting.  Staff has been removing unsafe play equipment.  
  • Middletown Rowing use of Sears Park for storing boats (possible motion)
Jessica Rurka motioned to allow the use of the park and the pavilion for the standard rental fees for the use of the pavilion and a fee of $50 per boat.  Sheryl Dougherty seconded the motion.  All approved.  
  • Skate Park Student Petition – brief introduction from students
No students showed up to the meeting.  
  • Program update
Shawn Mullen gave a report on the status of Parks and Recreation programming.  

New Business
  • Sears Park parking stickers (possible motion)
The Advisory board discussed Sears Park stickers and will leave the current practices in place.  
Other Concerns:  None

Director’s Report
  • Budget Update capital expenses
Jeremy Hall gave a report on the status of Capital Items in the budget.  The Town Manager has approved several of the items.  
 Committee Reports:  None

Adjournment:  Sheryl Dougherty motioned to adjourn.  Tim Adams seconded.  All approved.
