Minutes


Present:  Jeremy Hall, Shawn Mullen, Deb Mckinney, Tim Adams, Dan Roy, Dick Edmonds, Sheryl Dougherty, Jessica Rurka.  Also Present:  Alan Hurst, Hannah Monahan, Cheryl Gioielli, Sarah Moore-Riddell

Call to Order:  Deb Mckinney called the meeting to order.   

Approval of the minutes of the November 1st Regular Meeting:  Dan Roy motioned to approve the minutes.  Tim Adams seconded.  All approved.  

Audience of Citizens:  none

Communications
  • Appointment of two new Board Members
Jessica Rurka & Sheryl Dougherty
The new board members were introduced.   


Unfinished Business
  • Seamster Park Playground Fundraising opportunities/updates
  • December, January & February events
Fundraising efforts and ideas were discussed.  Upcoming is the Rink Grand opening and Wolfpack fundraiser on January 29th.  Ideas for future events were discussed.  
  • Nominations for chair/vice chair
The Advisory Board motioned to nominate Deb Mckinney for Chair.  A vote was taken and all approved.  The Advisory Board motioned to nominate Tim Adams for vice chair.  A vote was taken and all approved.  
  • Winter program/Ice Rink updates
Shawn Mullen updated the board on the status of Winter Parks and Recreation Programs.  The ice Rink at Sears Park has been completed and will be filled with water this week.  The Parks and Recreation Department has several events scheduled to use it and there will be open public skating available as well.  
  • Part Time Program Staff New Hire
Skye Dougherty has been hired as part time program staff.  
  • Skate Park/new ideas
Ideas were discussed as to what to do with the skate park at Sears Park.  The advisory board would like to see some type of a multi use area be installed there.

Director’s Report
  • Budget report
Jeremy Hall gave an update on the budget process.  He is shooting for a 1.8% increase over last year.  


 Committee Reports
  • Recreational Facility:  nothing at this time

Sheryl Dougherty motioned to adjourn the meeting.  Jessica Rurka seconded.  All approved.
