Minutes
Present: Program Coordinator; Shawn Mullen, Chairperson; Rich Norkun, John Wright, Mark Vickery, Dan Roy, Deb Mckinney
Call to Order: Rich Norkun called to order the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Regular Meeting.
Approval of the minutes of the June 3, 2014 Regular Meeting and special meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board: John Wright motioned to approve the minutes, Dan Roy seconded. All approved.
Audience of Citizens: None
Communications: None
Director’s Report: Shawn Mullen gave a report on the status of Parks and Recreation Operations.
Unfinished Business
- Partnership with Senior Center, Commission on Aging, and Parks and Recreation for “Boomer” programming
Nothing new at this time.
- Recreation space needs assessment discussion
Nothing further at this time.
The tennis court repairs have been completed.
New Business
- Sears Park Beach drainage project
Shawn Mullen updated the advisory board on the project.
- Fall and Winter Season preparation
Shawn Mullen updated the advisory board on the status of Fall and Winter programing.
- Procedures and policies for road races in town
The Parks and Recreation Department has been asked to look into establishing an application process for Road Races. Shawn Mullen will update the board at the next meeting.
The Ghost Run in November 1. The Parks and Recreation Department is looking for helper at the event.
Other Concerns
Parks and Recreation Director Position: Dan Roy motioned to draft a letter to Town Council regarding the hiring process and it’s status. Deb Mckinney seconded the motion. All approved
