Present Board Members:  Chairperson; Rich Norkun, Tim Adams, Mark Vickery, Dan Roy, Deb McKinney.  
Also Present:  Director; Ruth Plummer, Program Coordinator; Shawn Mullen

Call To Order:  Rich Norkun called to order the May 1, 2012 Regular Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.  

Approval of the minutes of the April 3, 2012 regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board:  Tim Adams motioned to approve the minutes of the April 3, 2012 Regular Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.  Mark Vickery seconded the motion.  All approved (5-0).    

Audience of Citizens:  None  

Communications
  • Letter to John Weichsel from Ruth Plummer regarding recreational needs
The letter was discussed and everyone has a copy.  This will be addressed at the next Town Council Meeting.   

Director’s Report:  Ruth Plummer and Shawn Mullen gave reports on the status of Parks and Recreation operations and programs.  

Unfinished Business
  • Governor William O’Neil Performing Arts Gazebo update
The project will be awarded to Scope Construction.  The contract is being reviewed by the Attorney.  
  • AirLine Trail extension to Main Street update  
While the expansion project was being excavated a railroad trestle was found that was not on any maps or plans.  This has changed  the layout of this portion of the trail slightly.  
  • Survey for recreational needs
Board members are working on this for the next meeting.  
  • Gazebo use policies and procedures
Nothing further on this now.  This will be addressed again at the next meeting.

Adjournment:  Deb McKinney motioned to adjourn the May 1, 2012 Regular Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.  Mark Vickery seconded the motion.  All approved (5-0).
