Present Board Members:  Chairperson; Rich Norkun, Vice Chairperson; John Wright, Mark Vickery, Deb Mckinney.  

Also present:  Director; Ruth Plummer, Program Coordinator; Shawn Mullen

Call To Order:  Rich Norkun called to order the January 3, 2012 Regular Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.   

Approval of the minutes of the December 6, 2011 regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board :  John Wright motioned to approve the minutes.  Mark Vickery seconded, all approved (4-0).  

Audience of Citizens:  None

Communications
  • Memorandum to John Weichsel regarding Sears Park sticker fees for the 2012 season:  The letter was discussed, everyone was given a copy.  
Director’s Report:  Ruth Plummer gave a report on the status of the Parks and Recreation Department.  

Unfinished Business
  • Governor William O’Neil Performing Arts Gazebo update:  A meeting is scheduled for January 10th with Cheryl Newton.  
  • Tolhurst / Purple easement:  Jean D’Aquila is working on the legal documents.  They will be presented on January 10th.  
  • Updated Board Members contact list:  All board members have an updated contact list.   
  • AirLine Trail extension to Main Street update:  It has been recommended to Town Council to award the project to Diversity Construction.   
  • Youth Football interest: The East Hampton Youth Football Program is moving forward.  Dates have been set for open houses and registration.  The Parks and Recreation Department is assisting with distribution of flyers through the school system.   
  • Parks and Recreation 5 year action plan:  The 5 year plan will remain on the agenda.   
New Business   
  •  Parks and Recreation budget:  Ruth Plummer is working on the Parks and Recreation Budget.  
Other Concerns:  None
 
Committee Reports
  • Recreational Facility:  Nothing further at this time.  
Adjournment:  Rich Norkun motioned to adjourn the January 3, 2012 Regular Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.  John Wright seconded the motion.  All approved 4-0.
