Present Board Members:  Chairperson, Rich Norkun; Len Heroux, Deb McKinney , Tim Adams.  
Also Present:  Director, Ruth Plummer; Program Coordinator, Shawn Mullen

Call To Order:  Rich Norkun called to order the June 1, 2010 Regular Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to order.  

Approval of the minutes of the May 4, 2010 regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board:  Tim Adams  motioned to approve the minutes of the May 4, 2010 Regular Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.  Len Heroux seconded the motion.  All approved (4-0).   

Audience of Citizens:  None

Communications:  
  • Facility request for East Hampton Little League:  The request was reviewed.  Len Heroux motioned to approve, Deb McKinney seconded. All approved (4-0).  
  • Facility request for Knights of Columbus/St. Patrick Church.  The request was reviewed.  Len Heroux motioned to approve, Deb McKinney seconded.  All approved (4-0).  
Director’s Report:  Ruth Plummer gave a directors report and Shawn Mullen gave a report on the status of Spring and Summer programming.  

Unfinished Business
  • Sears Park 100th Anniversary planning
Ruth Plummer and Shawn Mullen discussed the plans for this event.  
  • Navigation ordinance recommendation
Education, publicity and public relations is the current plan for this issue.  
  • Governor William O’Neil Amphitheater     
The earliest any developments will be made to Sears Park is August 2010.  

New Business:  None

Other Concerns:  The Parks and Recreation Department has hired a new Lead Park Attendant, Tammy Scherp has started this week and is doing a great job.
