To consider application #438 filed by Tracie Rohzon for an addition to garage and replacement of clapboards on the main house at 105 Middle Haddam Road.

Ms. Rohzon commented that the boards on the main house are deteriorated and have started to buckle and that there is insect damage.  The boards were painted three years ago and it is impossible to maintain.  She will be replacing the existing clapboards with cedar clapboard and Tyvek weather barrier.  The corner boards are also to be replaced and will consist of mahogany and will be in sizes that will not require cutting and the replacement material will have the same detail and beading as the existing corner boards.  This same replacement material will also be applied to the addition to the garage.

Alternate Commissioner Christopher Dart arrived at 6:40 p.m. and was seated by Commissioner Royster.

Richard Walsh moved to approve the application for the construction of addition to the garage and the replacement of clapboard and wood trim with similar wood materials.  James Royster moved to amend the motion to include the fact the applicant is also replacing the clapboards on the garage and is adding a storage shed.  Douglas Mackeown withdrew the original motion.  Richard Walsh then moved to approve the application for the replacement of clapboards and corner boards on the main house, add an addition to the garage and replace the clapboards on the garage and the addition of a storage shed.  The motion was seconded by Douglas Mackeown.  Motion Carried 5-0-0.
