Regular Meeting

MINUTES

Present:  Vice Chair Douglas Mackeown, Clerk James Royster, Commissioner Richard Walsh, Alternates George Coshow, Gina Ritchie, and Christopher Dart (arrived at 7:07 p.m.)

Absent:  Chair Nannette Woodcock, Commissioner Ray Krupa

Also Present:  Jennifer Carducci, Temporary Recording Clerk

1.  Call to Order

Vice Chair Mackeown called this regular meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

2.  Roll Call/Seating of Alternates

Roll call was taken; Alternates Gina Ritchie and George Coshow were seated for voting.  

3.  Public Remarks for Agenda Items – None

4.  Approval of Minutes

a.      June 26, 2008 Regular Meeting Minutes and Motions
b.      July 17, 2008 Special Meeting Minutes and Motions

The minutes of the June 26, 2008 Regular Meeting and July 17, 2008 Special Meeting were accepted and approved as written.

5.  Correspondence – None

     a.  Other - None

6.  Reports

    a.  Expenditures – None
 
     b.  District Map – Mr. Walsh discussed progress on combining information and compiling a map.  

Mr. Dart arrived and was seated.  Mr. Coshow was unseated.

7.  Unfinished Business
     
a.      Handbook Suggestions and Revisions

The Commission discussed the current draft of the Handbook including the History section (Mr. Dart will have written draft section ready for review for the next regular meeting); boundaries, landscaping and plantings; structures, definitions and the cover art.  Mr. Coshow will write up paragraph on utilities and circulate it to all for discussion at the next regular meeting.

b.      36 Middle Haddam Road

Discussion ensued regarding the parking of commercial vehicles.  Mr. Royster will draft a letter to the homeowner with copies to the Town Manager and the Zoning Enforcement Officer.  

c.      Other

Discussion ensued regarding history of Middle Haddam and possible sources of information.

Mr. Coshow motioned to adjourn this regular meeting at 8:09 p.m., seconded by Mr. Walsh, motion passed.
