There was a meeting held on August 17, 2011 at Bellwood Court.  The meeting opened at 6:10pm.  Members present were Patricia Dufour, Ann McLaughlin, Tom Denman, Monica Kangley and Judie Bobbi.  Jo Ann Ewing was away.
Minutes:
Ms. Kangley made a motion to approve the minutes of July 20th.  Mr. Denman seconded.   Vote was 2 yes and Ms. McLaughlin abstained since she was absent.
Public Comment: None
Bills and Communication:
Sav-Mor quote for a heat pump at Bellwood Court; Ms. McLaughlin made a motion to accept the quote of $5,200.  Ms. Kangley seconded.  Vote was unanimous.
We received a quote from Grasshopper Landscaping to grind stumps on the three trees removed at Bellwood Court and repair the storm drain near the large stump.  Total for all work is $1425.00.  Mr. Denman made a motion to accept the quote.  Ms. McLaughlin 2nd.  Vote was unanimous.
Two quotes were received, one from Taylor Paving and the other from Fuller Paving, to have some curbing replaced and some patch work done at Bellwood Court.  Mr. Denman made a motion to accept the quote from Fuller Paving.  Ms. Kangley seconded.  Vote was unanimous.
The Housing Authority received a thank note from the Denman’s for the edible arrangement.
Cash Report:    Ms. Bobbi presented the bank reconciliation for July 2011.  Board reviewed and it will be filed for audit.
Old Business and New Business:
Ms. Bobbi presented Board members with a copy of the 2010 Audit.  Copies have been sent to DECD and CHFA.
Ms. Bobbi reported that all the heat pumps have been installed also safety switches and GFIs are installed on the units.  We are now waiting to hear from CL&P when they will be replacing some of our refrigerators and ceiling lights.
Ms. Bobbi reported that according to Sav-Mor Heating and Cooling, the heat pumps have to be winterized each season.  A service contract was submitted for each place.  Ms. Bobbi suggested it may be a good idea to have the service contract with the company that installed the heat pump at least for the first year.  Ms. Kangley made a motion to take the service contract with Sav-Mor.  Ms. McLaughlin seconded.  Vote was unanimous.
Ms. McLaughlin who is a member of the Commission on Aging reported that the commission is looking into those seniors who may want or need wellness checks.  Also, the commission is following through with the Yellow Dot Program and our RSC, Jodi, will be involved.
RSC:    Ms. Brazal is on vacation
Tenant Commissioner:  
Ms. Kangley reported that a Wii game has been donated to Bellwood Court by Don Sorvillo’s granddaughter.  The Board has suggested a thank you note be sent.  Also, Ms. Kangley is planning to meet with residents to see if there is interest for a community garden for next year.     
A motion was made by Ms. McLaughlin to adjourn at 7:30pm.  Ms. Kangley seconded.
