Regular Meeting
July 14, 2008

Present: Matthew Walton, Dean Michelson, Dr. Richard Brown and Richard Dufour
Absent: Chairman David Simko
Others Present: Fire Chief Chuck Stickler, Assistant Chief Steve Palmer, Fire Marshal Phil Visintainer, Marty Voelker and Hunt Voelker
Acting Chairman Matthew Walton called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. at Company #1 on Barton Hill Road.
Approval of Minutes:
A motion was made by Dean Michelson and seconded by Richard Brown to accept the minutes of the June regular meeting minutes as presented. Vote 3-0 in favor.
Communications: None.
Public Remarks: None.
Fire Marshal Phil Visintainer’s Report: The Fire Marshal’s report is attached and made part of these minutes.
Fire Chief Chuck Stickler’s Report: The Chief’s report is attached and made part of these minutes.
Old Business:
Smokeless Tobacco Grant- Chief Stickler reported that there is no new information on this grant. Chief Stickler will ask Deputy Chief Voelker and report back at next meeting
Computer Grants – Chief Stickler stated at this time there is nothing new to report.
R1 Supplement – Chief Stickler stated that there is nothing new to report and he will follow up with Chief Reimondo.
Vehicle Repairs - Chief Stickler reported that the vehicle maintenance line item ended up being around $7,000 over budget. But due to the definition of budget lines some of the repair costs came out of 5690. So the fire department will be getting a new line item.
New Business:
Purchases – Chief Stickler asked for the approval to purchase the following items:

A motion was made by Richard Brown and seconded by Richard Dufour to approve the purchase as presented. Vote 4-0 in favor.
Server Edition/ $4,300 01220221- Firehouse Software
Maintenance
This motion was tabled until the August meeting so a presentation can be given by Rich Klotzbier explaining the above purchase.
Tires on Forestry $3,000 01220221-5438 Oasis Tire
Tanker 2-12
A motion was made by Richard Brown and seconded by Dean Michelson to approve the purchase of the tires and tubes in an amount up to $3,000 after checking the state bid first. Vote 4-0 in favor.
Gas Meter – Chief Stickler presented the new gas meter that was purchased from Field Services Inc. to the Commission and explained how the department will be able to make use of it.
A motion was made by Richard Brown and seconded by Dean Michelson to adjourn the regular meeting at 7:40 p.m. Vote 4-0 all in favor.
