Minutes
Present: Melissa Engel, Judith Golden, Ted Hintz (left meeting at 8:30pm), Jeff O’Keefe, John Tuttle, Mike Vasquenza, Sue Weintraub
Absent: Frank Grzyb and Jeff Jylkka
Call to order: Chairperson Engel called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.
Discuss with Friar Associates the New Town Hall: Brian Solywoda and Mike Sorano of Friar Associates presented a draft site plan for the new town hall located at the Center School property. There was discussion on the number of parking spaces that will be available and if that number is adequate. The next step for the plans is to moves the office blocks onto the floor plan. There was discussion on the location of various offices and departments. The draft floor plan will be presented at the next meeting.
Ms. Engel suggested the task force members visit town halls in Colchester, Cromwell, West Hartford and Rocky Hill and the new police department in Clinton to see the set up of their buildings.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the Center School to tour the facility.
The group also discussed water needs and options for the new Center School at the Memorial School property. Vin Susco, Public Utilities Administrator was present to answer questions.
Adjournment: A motion was made by Mr. Hintz, seconded by Mr. Tuttle, to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 a.m.
