Ethics Commission Regular Meeting
Wednesday, June 15, 2011
Town Hall Meeting Room

Minutes

Present:  Chairman James Scroggin and James Valad; Alternates John McBrearty and Mila Smith; Recording Secretary Cathy Sirois.

Not Present:  Vice Chairman David Gizewicz and Robert Kilpatrick

Call to order and Pledge of Allegiance:  Chairman Scroggins called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m.  All stood to recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

A motion was made by Mr. Valad, seconded by Mr. Scroggins, to seat John McBrearty and Mila Smith as alternates to fill the seats of Mr. Gizewicz and Mr. Kilpatrick.  Voted (2-0).

Approval of Minutes:
A motion was made by Ms. Smith, seconded by Mr. McBrearty, to approve the March 16, 2011 Regular Meeting minutes as written.  Voted (4-0).

Chairman’s Communications:
A letter from Margaret Faber was reviewed.  No action was taken as the letter was informational only.

Discussion of Commission Membership:
Three members of the commission are up for reappointment; Mr. Scroggins, Mr. Valad and Mr. McBrearty. Mr. Valad and Mr. McBrearty will be applying for reappointment.  Mr. Scroggins will not seek reappointment.  The Commission will need to elect new officers at an upcoming meeting.

Discussion of Administrative Procedures:   
Mr. Scroggins suggested a reporting protocol to the Town Manager and/or Town Council.

Other Business to Consider:
None.

Adjournment:  
A motion was made by Mr. McBrearty, seconded by Mr. Valad, to adjourn the meeting at 6:50 p.m.  Voted (4-0).
