Ethics Commission Regular Meeting
Wednesday, March 17, 2010
Middle School Library

Minutes

Present:  Chairman James Scroggins; Members David Gizewicz and Robert Kilpatrick; Alternates John McBrearty and Mila Smith; Recording Secretary Cathy Sirois.

Not Present:  James Valad

Call to order and Pledge of Allegiance:  Chairman Scroggins called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.  All stood to recite the Pledge of Allegiance.  

A motion was made by Mr. Kilpatrick, seconded by Mr. Gizewicz, to seat alternates John McBrearty and Mila Smith.  Voted (3-0).

Approval of Minutes:
A motion was made by Mr. Kilpatrick, seconded by Mr. McBrearty, to approve the December 3, 2009 Special Meeting minutes as written.  Voted (4-0-1). Ms. Smith abstained as she was absent from that meeting.

Chairman’s Communications:
Mr. Scroggins reviewed the brief appointment and resignation of Matthew Necci.  

Discussion of Commission Membership:   
The Ethics Commission will be included in articles that are run in the Rivereast and on the town website requesting applications for volunteers for boards and commissions.

Election of Chair and Vice Chair:
A motion was made by Mr. McBrearty, seconded by Mr. Kilpatrick, to reappoint James Scroggins as the Chairman of the Ethics Commission.  Voted (5-0).

A motion was made by Mr. McBrearty, seconded by Mr. Kilpatrick, to appoint David Gizewicz as the Vice Chairman of the Ethics Commission.  Voted (5-0).

Other Business to Consider:  None

Adjournment:  
A motion was made by Mr. Kilpatrick, seconded by Mr. Gizewicz, to adjourn the meeting at 6:50 p.m.  Voted (5-0).
