The Boy’s soccer team has just started their away game in North Branford tonight, at 7:00 p.m. Senior night was held on Saturday at the Middle School where the Boy’s faced the number one ranked team, Old Saybrook, and lost 1-0 that night. The Boy’s record is currently 4-8-1 and in need of two more victories in order to secure their spot in the State Tournament.

The Girl’s soccer team is currently 11-2-1. Their next game is tomorrow, October 23, against Portland at 3:45 p.m. home. The girl’s final game will be home on Saturday, October 27, against Old Saybrook at 6:30 p.m.

The first ever home volleyball game at EHHS was held today against the Glastonbury JV team. The Girl’s did win the first point of the match but ended up losing 0-3. Even though they didn’t come away with the win the team looked strong, unified, and as if they had a fun time. The Girl’s next match is Wednesday, October 24, away at Old Lyme at 4:00 p.m.

The Seniors still cannot stop talking about Washington D.C. and the good times that everyone had. All the students behaved and the chaperones were very pleased with how mature and responsible the class was. All of the Seniors received their annual photo in front of the Capitol which came out very nice.

The Freshmen class is gearing up for class elections. The Freshmen advisors will be Mrs. Russell and Mrs. Flannery. The PSAT’s were this weekend at the High School for the Sophomore and Junior classes. Financial Aid night was held on October 18th at EHHS. Parents had the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the FAFSA form and many other ways to apply and receive federal loans and money.

Senior Super Heroes is soon arriving to the High School. This is an annual event sponsored by the National Honor Society where Seniors are allowed to dress up and be bid on by the rest of the school. They perform silly and peculiar acts throughout the day. The event is widely anticipated by both the faculty and students alike. The school is also sponsoring a costume contest on Halloween where all students are allowed to dress up for the Holiday.  Student Council is sponsoring a Pep Rally on November 2 to kick off the start of the winter sports and to celebrate the accomplishments and achievements of the fall sports as well.

The High School Band will be performing for the first time this year on the 30th of October. The Band has also been practicing for the Veteran’s Day parade which will be on November 11th this year.

Mrs. Mann, the Girl’s JV Volleyball Coach and High School History Teacher, is sponsoring a collection of goods which go to the poverty-stricken peoples out in South Dakota.
