5 – New Business.

A) Letter sent in from Ruth Plummer regarding two pieces of property for Land Acquisitions. Frank Junga will look at the U.S.G.S. map to look at the property. One piece of property is in the Clark Hill area and the second in Quiet Woods. This review will continue during upcoming meetings once the map is obtained.

B) David Dodes shared that the P&Z commission discussed and open space sub division regulation. This is a modification and change to the existing conservation sub division regulations. His proposal is to set aside land for the sub division to remain open space, this will help get open space at no cost by incorporating in the regulations a requirement that when you sub divide a percent of land needs to remain open. Hopefully over time these lands that are left for open space could be connected. The suggestion being made to the commission is that the open space sub division mandates that 50% of the land is dedicated to open space. The goal is building in East Hampton must be environmental friendly, conserves land and builders build what we want. There is a workshop on Tuesday August 14 at 7 pm at the Town Hall meeting room. The Conservation Commission is invited to join the workshop.

A motion by Frank Junga and seconded by Craig Wagner to adjourn.

Meeting adjourned 7:48 pm

Respectfully submitted, Recording Clerk Denise Wojick August 9, 2007
