East Hampton Senior Center

MINUTES

Present: ~Chairperson Cynthia DelFavero, Commission Members Sue Greeno and Ann McLaughlin and Alternate Patricia Dufour. ~Also present: Senior Center Director Jo Ann Ewing and Recording Secretary Cathy Sirois.

Not Present:  Mary Jo Shafer and Robert Petell

Call to Order:
Chairperson Cynthia DelFavero called the meeting to order at 3:05 p.m. in the East Hampton Senior Center.

A motion was made by Ms. McLaughlin, seconded by Ms. Greeno, to seat alternate Pat Dufour.  Voted (3-0).

Approval of Minutes:
A motion was made by Ms. Dufour, seconded by Ms. Greeno, to approve the minutes of the February 9, 2012 meeting as written. ~Voted (3-0-1) Ms. McLaughlin abstained as she was not present at that meeting.

Correspondence: ~None

New Business:  None

Old Business:
Yellow Dot/TRIAD:
Jodi Brazal from the Housing Authority reported that she will be picking up the stickers for the Yellow Dot program this week.

Emergency Preparedness Update:
Ms. DelFavero provided an overview of the Everbridge system to those in attendance at the meeting.

Laurel Ridge:
Ms. DelFavero provided flyers regarding upcoming seminars at Laurel Ridge.

Senior Survey:
Ms. Greeno provided draft surveys used by other towns/groups for General Needs Assessment for Seniors.  The Commission discussed the surveys and will discuss next steps at the April meeting.

Town Council Meeting Schedule:
The following is the schedule for members to attend the Town Council meetings:
March 13 – Ms. DelFavero; March 27 – Ms. Greeno; April 10th – Presentation; April 24th – Ms. McLaughlin (tentative).

SMP Seminar:
New training is coming up for the Senior Medical Patrol Seminar.  More information will be presented at a future meeting.

Housing Authority Report: ~
Ms. McLaughlin reported that the congregate housing project is shovel ready.  Letters need to be sent to the Governor and Senator Eileen Daily encouraging funding for the project.  A piece of property adjacent to Chatham Acres is available for sale and the Housing Authority is hoping to make an offer soon.

Senior Services Report: ~
Ms. Ewing provided an overview of the activities at the newly renovated Senior Center.

Adjournment:
A motion was made by Ms. McLaughlin, seconded by Ms. Dufour, to adjourn the meeting at 4:20 p.m.  Voted (4-0).
