East Hampton Town Hall Meeting Room

MINUTES

Present:  Chairperson Cynthia DelFavero, Vice Chairperson Mary Jo Shafer and Commission Member Ann McLaughlin.  Also present: Senior Center Director Jo Ann Ewing and Recording Secretary Cathy Sirois.

Call to Order:
Chairperson Cynthia DelFavero called the meeting to order at 3:10 p.m.

Approval of Minutes:
A motion was made by Ms. McLaughlin, seconded by Ms. Shafer, to approve the minutes of the September 8, 2011 meeting as written. Voted (3-0).

Public Remarks:  None

Correspondence:  None

New Business:  
Ms. Shafer reported an addition to the Senior Discounts; Big Tom’s Backyard in Cobalt.  The discount will be 10% off for age 60 and over.

At the next meeting Ms. Shafer would like to discuss including handymen/carpenters on the discount listing.

AARP will be holding a town meeting to explain new healthcare laws on December 8th on CPTV.

Town Council will be doing appointments at the next Council meeting.

Old Business:
Yellow Dot/TRIAD:
Jodi Brazal of the Housing Authority reported that there will be more information to come at the next meeting regarding training.

Emergency Preparedness Update:
The Police Chief approved the form for the Everbridge notification system.  It also needs approval from the Town Manager.

Housing Authority Report:
Ms. McLaughlin reported that they are still waiting for FEMA and the insurance regarding damage to buildings.  They are still waiting for some refrigerators for units.  Ms. Bobbie would like to be included in the emergency planning meetings.

Senior Services Report:
Ms. Ewing reported that the Senior Center renovation is behind schedule.  The programs at the church are running smoothly.  Energy assistance is underway.

Public Remarks:
Jodi Brazal asked about the congregate housing and if there is a possibility of alternate funding. Ms. McLaughlin noted the Housing Authority will be looking into that in the future.

Adjournment:
A motion was made by Ms. McLaughlin, seconded by Ms. Shafer, to adjourn the meeting at 4:10 p.m.  Voted (3-0).
