Call to Order:
Chairperson Cynthia DelFavero called the meeting to order at 3:02 p.m.

Approval of Minutes:
A motion was made by Ms. McLaughlin, seconded by Ms. Shafer, to approve the minutes of the August 11, 2011 meeting as written. Voted (3-0).

Correspondence: None

New Business:
Ms. McLaughlin noted that the commission should be more aware of and follow parliamentary procedure for the meetings.  She also noted that Public Remarks should be added to the agenda.

Old Business:
Yellow Dot/TRIAD:
Ms. McLauglin spoke with Terri Concannon regarding an October meeting at Laurel Ridge for the Yellow Dot program.

Emergency Preparedness Update:
Ms. McLaughlin spoke with Chief Reimondo regarding the procedures for wellness checks.  At this time there is no set procedure but there will most likely be a change in procedure next year.  The Emergency Notification Consent form for the Everbridge system should be reviewed by Chief Reimondo prior to finalizing.  Ms. Ewing noted that the TRIAD program would assist communities in wellness checks.

The Commission discussed Storm Irene and the needs of the seniors during an emergency.  Ms. Ewing noted that two categories that should be included on the notification form should be natural disasters and Senior Center closings.  The Commission would like their portion of the Everbridge system to be up by November 1st.  At the end of the meeting, the commission discussed the Emergency Notification Consent Form.

Housing Authority Report:
Ms. McLaughlin reported that the heat pumps are installed.  Refrigerators were supplied through the weatherization program.  There are still 24 refrigerators to come at Chatham Acres.  Reductions in electric bills have been seen already.  It was also noted that the Housing Authority was not made aware of the services that were provided during Storm Irene.

Senior Services Report:
Ms. Ewing reported that the Senior Center renovation is progressing.  The programs at the church are doing well and several trips are planned.

Adjournment:
A motion was made by Ms. McLaughlin, seconded by Ms. Shafer, to adjourn the meeting at 4:25 p.m.  Voted (3-0).

Respectfully submitted,

Cathy Sirois
Recording Secretary
