East Hampton Arts and Cultural Commission
Meeting Minutes – Thursday, October 20, 2011
Location: East Hampton Middle School Library
Members present: Rachel Mansfield – Vice Chair, Val Bozzi, Shirley Brooks, Kevin Gunning, Elizabeth Sennett, Monica Kangley, Thom Cordeiro (Town Council liaison), Sue Berescik (Town staff liaison)
Call to order: 7:02pm
Town Council liaison Thom Cordeiro opened the meeting with general housekeeping rules for the board given that he will no longer be a member of the Town Council after November 8th.
General Discussion consisted of the direction of the commission and what project to tackle first.
Motion made by Val Bozzi and seconded by Monica Kangley to have each member sign up on a calendar to be the one to complete minutes during a given month. See listing below. Voted 6-0
Commission discussed upcoming Holiday events and would like to partner with EDC to discuss promotion and to ensure that arts and cultural events from group members are included in all EDC promotion.
Cordeiro asked that each member send a list of their upcoming events to Rich Leone’s email address so that he can include.
Val Bozzi mentioned that her daughter is completing a web-design course for her University study and would like to use the Arts Commission as a template for her class. The commission will receive pro-bono services and could possibly use the design in the future. Rich Leone has been sent the college consent agreement to review and approve. Commission members will send photos and details from their specific groups for inclusion in the website design.
