TOWN OF EAST WINDSOR - ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
FEBRUARY 1, 2010
The East Windsor Zoning Board of Appeals held a Regular Meeting on Monday, February 1, 2010 at the East Windsor Town Hall, 11 Rye Street, Broad Brook, Connecticut. The following members were present: Regular Members Tom Arcari, Christopher Davis, Cliff Nelson and James Strempfer and Alternate Member José Giner. Also present was Robin Newton, Zoning Enforcement Official.
The meeting was called to order at 7:32 p.m. by Acting Chairman Tom Arcari.
ESTABLISHMENT OF QUORUM
A quorum was established, as four regular members and one alternate were present.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS:
Election of officers was tabled due to the fact that only four regular members were present. (The ZBA Rules of Procedure state that only regular members may vote for officers).
NEW BUSINESS:
ZBA #2010-01 – Application of Richard J. Powloka, Racers Performance, for property located at 38 Prospect Hill Road, for Location Approval under Sec. 14-54 and 14-55 of the CGS for a used car dealer license. The property is owned by Dean A. and Caren E. Rasmussen.
Mr. Powloka came forward to explain his application. He noted that he wants to get a license from the State to sell cars wholesale. He would repair the cars and sell them to other dealers. He said there would be no changes to the existing plans. Mr. Davis asked where the cars would be parked that are waiting to be repaired. Mr. Powloka answered that more than likely they will be inside. He said they have four bays in the rear.
MOTION: To approve ZBA #2010-01. Nelson / Davis / Unanimous
Mr. Nelson said he felt that this is an appropriate site for this use. There are other similar uses in this area.
OTHER BUSINESS:
Ms. Newton informed the ZBA members that in an effort to save postage costs, we will no longer be mailing the meeting packets. We will be asking the boards to come in and pick up their meeting packets. She noted that this will start possibly in April.
