EAST WINDSOR VETERANS COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
for
Thursday, March 1, 2007
OPENING:
Warren Wenz, Chairman, opened this meeting at 7:00 P.M. at the East Windsor Town Hall. There were six commission members in attendance: Warren Wenz, Ron Hwalek, James Barton, George Butenkoff, Nick Macsata and Ken Crouch.
Absent: William Abbe Sr., Mark Simmons, Ernie Teixeira, Dave Malo, Don Brown, Rick Webster and Fred McDermott.
Chairman Warren Wenz led the Commission in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
SECRETARY’S REPORT: The minutes of the February 1, 2007, meeting were reviewed by those present and accepted as presented.
TREASURER’S REPORT: No Report
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony Committee-
Warren held a discussion about the preparations for our Memorial Day parade and ceremony for Monday, May 28th, 2007. All tasks and assignments appeared on schedule.
Memorial Day Poster/Essay Contest Committee-
No Report
Scholarship Committee-
No report
Veterans Cemetery Project-
Warren opened a discussion about the purchase of memorial bricks to be placed around the cemetery monument & walkway. A price of $35.00 per brick was reviewed. The members present agreed to hold off advertising the bricks in the paper until an actual cost is determined.

Veterans Day Road Race Committee-
No Report
OTHER BUSINESS:
Warren opened a discussion regarding the $1,000.00 donation made to the East Windsor Veterans Commission by the Simpkins family.
MOTION: Ken Crouch moved to return the $1,000.00 donation to the Simpkins family. This was seconded by George Butenkoff and carried unanimously.

ADJOURNMENT
Hearing of no further business to come before the commission, Chairman Warren Wenz asked for a motion to adjourn. George Butenkoff moved to adjourn this meeting and this was seconded by Jim Barton. The motion carried unanimously. The Chairman closed the meeting at 7:40 P.M.
