EAST WINDSOR VETERANS COMMISSION
MINUTES
for
Thursday, October 6, 2005
OPENING:
Warren Wenz, Chairman, opened this meeting at 7:00 P.M. at the East Windsor Town Hall. There were eleven commission members in attendance: Warren Wenz, John Lichatz, William Abbe Sr., Ernie Teixeira, Ron Hwalek, James Barton, George Butenkoff, Dave Malo, Rick Webster, Ken Crouch, and Mark Simmons. East Windsor resident Dennis Fetko was also present.
Absent: Fred McDermott, Phillip Godeck, and Linda Roberts
Chairman Warren Wenz led the Commission in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
SECRETARY’S REPORT: The recorded minutes of the September 1, 2005, meeting were reviewed by those present.
MOTION: George Butenkoff moved to accept the meeting’s minutes as submitted. This was seconded by Dave Malo and carried unanimously.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Ron Hwalek submitted the treasurer’s report and answered commission members’ questions.
MOTION: George Butenkoff moved to accept the treasurer’s report as submitted. This was seconded by Dave Malo and carried unanimously.

Veterans Day Road Race Committee-
Our 6th annual 5K road race is scheduled for Saturday, November 12th, 2005. The race day T-Shirt pattern was reviewed and several design changes were considered.
Rick Webster, Race Day Coordinator, discussed other aspects of our annual race including advertising in the Journal Enquirer and a request to include 5 & 6 year old youngsters as relay team racers. Other aspects of the annual race day were also discussed. All tasks appear to be on schedule.
OTHER BUSINESS:
Jim Barton asked about the American and P.O.W. flags missing from the flag pole at the Warehouse Point town green. Ken Crouch reported that he had the flags in his possession in order for the flag pole rope to be replaced. Ken said that he will replace the flags as soon as possible.
Warren Wenz also discussed a donation for the Korean War Veterans.

ADJOURNMENT
Hearing of no further business to come before the commission, Chairman Warren Wenz asked for a motion to adjourn. George Butenkoff moved to adjourn this meeting and a second was made by Jim Barton. The motion carried unanimously. The Chairman closed the meeting at 7:50 P.M.
