BOARD OF SELECTMEN
SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
JUNE 19, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 7:50 p.m. at the East Windsor Town Hall.
In Attendance: Denise Menard, First Selectman
Gilbert Hayes, Deputy First Selectman
Edward Farrell, Selectman
Mark Simmons, Selectman
Absent: Dale Nelson, Selectman
A. To Recommend to the Board of Finance Added Appropriations for the following department’s current budgets
1. Selectmen
MOTION: Farrell/Simmons/unanimous
2. Registrar of Voters
Recommended that for Primaries and Referendums that the Registrar’s use a minimum number of poll workers, requesting a written list of poll workers at each poll paid to work & their duties to help find minimum number needed.
MOTION: Simmons/Farrell/unanimous
3. Assessor’s Office
MOTION: Hayes/Farrell/unanimous
4. Tax Collector
MOTION: Hayes/Farrell/In Favor

B. Discussion/Action re: 2008-2009 Budget
A brief discussion took place regarding a request by the Board of Finance as to who sets the Referendum date for fourth Referendum and what is the Board of Selectmen’s power regarding setting the mill rate.
C. Appointment of Board of Finance Representatives to the Charter Revision Committee
The Selectmen agreed there should be a schedule of who will be attending meetings.
